Me, MyGadgets and Irene

No the Mrs is not called Irene (that is what I have dedcided to call my new audio/video receiver).
From the beginning of time man has had an affinity to his gagets, and like every normal man I love me my gadgets.
Just bought me a new Onkyo SR 800 receiver/amplifier. I've always wanted to own a onkyo system and now I have one.
Took a lot of convincing / cajoling of the wifey till she let me buy a receiver that cost this much, especially since my previous one cost a fifth of the price.
I had to pull the I am the resident engineer and I know electronics better card.
Got the Mrs to say yes because the speakers matched the decor, see I know how to convince the Mrs. I maybe new at the game but I am a fast learner.
See you cannot explain quality of sound and speaker ratings and formats to the fairer sex, not even women electronics engineers understand that stuff.
I setup the system and got the cable remote to control the receiver as well, so shes impressed especially since she had to use a separate control for the old one.
I will not review the system, but just say that it is outright awesome. Still have to setup up the surround speakers.
Got 14 gauge wire and will be setting the speakers later during the weekend.
Hope the sound from the movies is awesomer than it is now. The PS3 goes extremely well with the system and makes the games fan(freaking)tastic.
Investment in buying HDMI and Optical cables goes a long way in improving sound.
Hope it gets even sweeter after I connect the whole thing with the 14 gauge wire.

Also bought Ghost Recon for the PS3. if you don't see me leaving the house, I don't need to explain where I am.
I ask you then am I crazy if I sing good night Irene every time I have to go to bed.
