Truth and Duty
Just finished reading the above said book. It is the story of Mary Mapes the reporter who broke the Bush national guard and the Abu gharib stories. Must commend the woman on her reporting. A lot of info on the inner workings of the National Guard in Texas. Insight into why American television media cannot be trusted. This book does seem to be a way for Mary to try and save her a*& but if I had to pick between Mary and Karl Rove (and I believe he was the one that masterminded her demise), heck if I had to pick between the Devil and Karl Rove I'd never pick Karl Rove.
Though in some sort of corny way he is an inspiration, It's almost like he controls everything. He has never been defeated, I fear that he can get even a lame duck like McCain to win the presidency.
After reading the book all I could say is its better to have a rich dad rather than a poor dad. A poor dad can teach you a lot of values, but only a rich dad can make all of your horrendous errors you've committed go away and make you a president.
It also validated my hatred for Texas and all things Texan.

Me, MyGadgets and Irene

No the Mrs is not called Irene (that is what I have dedcided to call my new audio/video receiver).
From the beginning of time man has had an affinity to his gagets, and like every normal man I love me my gadgets.
Just bought me a new Onkyo SR 800 receiver/amplifier. I've always wanted to own a onkyo system and now I have one.
Took a lot of convincing / cajoling of the wifey till she let me buy a receiver that cost this much, especially since my previous one cost a fifth of the price.
I had to pull the I am the resident engineer and I know electronics better card.
Got the Mrs to say yes because the speakers matched the decor, see I know how to convince the Mrs. I maybe new at the game but I am a fast learner.
See you cannot explain quality of sound and speaker ratings and formats to the fairer sex, not even women electronics engineers understand that stuff.
I setup the system and got the cable remote to control the receiver as well, so shes impressed especially since she had to use a separate control for the old one.
I will not review the system, but just say that it is outright awesome. Still have to setup up the surround speakers.
Got 14 gauge wire and will be setting the speakers later during the weekend.
Hope the sound from the movies is awesomer than it is now. The PS3 goes extremely well with the system and makes the games fan(freaking)tastic.
Investment in buying HDMI and Optical cables goes a long way in improving sound.
Hope it gets even sweeter after I connect the whole thing with the 14 gauge wire.
Also bought Ghost Recon for the PS3. if you don't see me leaving the house, I don't need to explain where I am.
I ask you then am I crazy if I sing good night Irene every time I have to go to bed.

Black is back
Actually its white that was the one that came back. I don't like being too political....yeah right...
Was a Superb Tuesday. Hillary fought, clawed (Meow) her way back to victory. She managed to beat the seemingly invincible Obama. On a side note McCain (shouldn't he be called Mc Can't) won the republican nomination, I think Huckabee was a better candidate even with his religious ideologies, at least he was being himself.
Well back to Demo Crats. I am not a big Obama fan, not that I like Hillary, but she is the smartest person on the stage, and when is it wrong to vote for the smarter person. Obama is all talk and no action. I never like the big talking people, but then I think I am smart (at least smarter than a bunch of fools that dont know why they are voting).
All the interviews that have been done at Obama rallies, not one awe struck teenager has been able to specify why they are voting for him. All you see is awe struck Youtube watching, facebook maniacs (Oh my gosh is it really him, look at the crowds and you'd think that he was the savior of the world). And thats why I dont like him, he's just media created Hysteria, Mass Hysteria, I dont think he has much substance to his message, his record does not prove he has. He cannot guarantee that he could deliver on any of his promises, well he cannot gaurantee he knows how to deliver on his promises.
Hopefully the race is between Hillary and McCain, for as much as I hate McCain he has a proven record and if he promises something you can make a clear judgement call on whether he will deliver or not.
Plus now that were losing that idiot in office who are all the satirists going to make fun of, think about it if the Clintons ar ein the WH we still have good Ol Billy boy to provide entertainment (though McCain does have a hot wife...)
