2 Become 1
Just came back from a hectic weekend in Dayton(the birthplace of aviation)..also the place I call home or used to call for the last 2 years before I moved to the Northe east. I went there to watch a good friend and an intruding neighbor tie the knot with a girl I dont know much about.
I had to drive for about 8 hrs to get to Dayton but with the free food and the free booze it was all worth it....Marriages are always invigorating, I mean the ceremonies..especially for me as I love to dance...Im not a big fan of rituals but a wedding ceremony without the dancing is not a real ceremony for me...since I come from a land that has thou shalt Jive and thou shall drink built in as the 3rd and 4th commandment....
The party was a lot of fun with all the aunties and uncles also shaking a leg...the food was OK..am used to more food than that at weddings..and the bar was fantastic...but most of all it was a very emotional journey for me as this was to be my last trip to Dayton, now that all my roomies have finally moved out and on to bigger cities...there will be no more 8hr drives along the I-70 for me....
Dayton the place I first stepped on land oer here in the US will always have a special place in my heart.
2 souls (Rakesh and Kimberly) were joined on the 5th of Aug 2005 and 2 souls (Me and Dayton) parted ways...guess relativity applies to Life as well...
Farewell and adieu to you ladies of Dayton;
For it's we've received orders for to sail for New England,
But we hope very soon we shall see you again.....

The lights were dim, and I danced at this party once.
People still laugh when it comes up in conversations.

I haven't been to a wedding in a long time. Sounds like you had a good time. Did you catch the garter? hehe :)
The food is always the USP of every wedding ceremony. But well, yes, the dance and all are definitely some added spice to the flavour. But 8 hours drive for a wedding?? And you say you'll miss that? I am confuddled :)
@Lee ann: Well I almost got caught in the maid of honours garter..but managed to free myself..
@sudeepta..thanks for stopping by....well I miss dayton..not driving 8 hrs..though the journey along penna turnpike is pretty scenic....
guess I'll have to make do with the 5 hr drives to boston from now on...

Well I would say the ladies of New England awaiteth thy arrival with bated breaths :))
And yeah, I have been to plenty of Goan wedding here in Bangalore, cos I have lots of Goan friends. And the dancing is something I enjoy too. The Feni does add that little spring to the steps though. Higly recommended:))

You are so right. Chicks dig a man who can dance. I went and married one who won't dance. What the hell did I go and do that for? Oh yeah, it was something about love or something like that. That's it.
@silverine practicing some newmoves to enchant the damsels in New england..I missed the feni too..had to get some muscles moving involuntarily..
@Teri every human errs..and some mistakes are hard to rectify.. lol...but love is a good enough replacement for dancing moves..
@couchpotato dont fret..maybe you can sing...
@arunima Thanks...
