A child is born
Finally after all the years of waiting..I am an uncle now. My sister delivered a baby boy on Friday night and I was just overjoyed. Well a bit dissapointed as I was rooting for a girl. I aldready have a male godchild and as I had already been voted as the God parent for the baby I was hoping I would have a niece.
I have been waiting for the last 7 years to get the news and when my mom called on Friday it was almost as if God had made up for the last weekend with just that one piece of news.
People might think this guy is crazy, its not like its his baby, yeah but still I am very excited, I started planning what kind of stuff I would take down as gifts and in 2 minutes time I realised it was all futile. I had absolutely no clue about "what a baby wants, what a baby needs." and so I had to call up another friend of mine and ask for her advice.
Gender inequality, equality, all take into consideration the point was proved once again that women know more about this stuff then men do. I'm just hoping now that I can make it to Bombay in time for the Christening. A bit disheartening that I will have to wait an entire month before I can see my nephew.
My dad and I had a bet as to when the baby would be born. See my family is all about dates. My sis and Dad celebrate their bdays on the same day. I am born on a day after my mom and dads anniversary . My dads godchild is born on his anniversary.
My dad was betting on the fact that since his daughter was born on his 30th bday, his granddaughter would be born on his 30th wedding anniversary. And, I was betting on the fact that since his godchild was born on hi bday mine would be on my bday. Well the baby was smart enough to get a day for celebration all by itself missed my bday by just 2 days. I of all people should know what it means to share the party with another person.
Would have loved to post his snap. Well I think I will as soon as they name the baby.
What joys a child can bring to this world.

All set and nowhere to go
Looks like my last post about being back was a little premature. Or I guess there is some person in the company keeping tabs on me, coz i got hounded by about 150 tasks as soon as I made the last post. I was thinking about changing my blog, but then again I hate to live in fear, and hence this is an open challenge to whoever is watching me in the company and pouring work on my name just because I use up billing hours to fill up my blog. All I have to say is this is Nicky(well for those of you who dont know nicky is the smart ass bitch whose cubicle is right next to mine) and not who you think..(laughing quietly to myself..)
Well this weekend was really bad. A lot of unusual things happened...I vote it as the most jinxed weekend of the year for me. I was gonna to drive up to Canada for some work. My colleague and I started our long drive from Phili along the 476. To start it off the weather was really bad. We saw about 10 accidents on the way. One happened right in front of our eyes. Gosh it was like hell to watch a SUV topple. After that I didnt need the speed signs to tell me that I ought to go below 85 on wet roads. What sucked the most was the fact that it's a very scenic drive through the Poconos and into upstate New York especially due to the foliage this time of the year, and I felt really bad that we could not enjoy the scenery due to the weather. Of all days the rain chose this one Saturday..why oh Why?. I was a bit dissapointed that I could not put my camera to full use, infact I didnt take a single picture.
But little did I know that it was just the start of a long line of curses that some witch had cast on me. We finally made it to the border after I drove 3 hours non -stop and we stopped at an exit to get our papers in order. It was then that I realised that there was a major faux-pas in my papers. I must thank God that I noticed it before I actually crossed over to the other side, else I would never have been able to make it back to this side. After an hour of deliberation we decided to come back to phili. THere was nothing my colleague could do as the car, the hotel everything was booked in my name, and just to repay him for the discomfort of actually driving back to phili I offered to drive the whole way back. Well I thought it would not be a problem because the rainfall had subsided. But little did I know that the Fog would be that bad. Gosh driving through FOG at 80 miles an hour with an 18 wheeler next to you is just a nightmare. well I had to get back to phili as fast as possible so that my colleague could go back to Canada the next day.
So I drop him off at his place, we book a car and a hotel for him and I leave for home pretty pissed about a typo that caused all this misery and to the lack of attention I pay to my documents. And then it happened the grand finale to cap an aldready sore weekend as I parked my rental car I ran a deep scratch into my car. Out of frustation I got out of the car and started swearing at the top of my voice. I created quiet a ruckus and woke up some of my neighbors, in the chaos I vent my frustraion on the rental car and kicked it hard only to cause a huge dent in the car.
Gawd this weekend was one crazy one, A huge dent in my car, in my rental car and my pocket and I got no benefit out of it. Guess I had it coming, this was a payback for my lackadaisical attitude and a good lesson in the cons of procrastination.

Back from the Rack
Man the last couple of weeks of been hell...just finished most of the work on my project..boy I feel alive being able to make deadlines again..
So I am back from my hiatus and hoping to write more often once again..
Boy I missed readin blogs as much as writing nonsense in my own space.
The prodigal has returned....
