Monopoly begets Lawsuits

As reported on GrokLaw, AMD has just filed an antitrust lawsuit against Intel. AMD states in its press release that the complaint details "... how Intel has unlawfully maintained its monopoly in the x86 microprocessor market by engaging in worldwide coercion of customers from dealing with AMD. It identifies 38 companies that have been victims of coercion by Intel - including large scale computer-makers, small system-builders, wholesale distributors, and retailers, through seven types of illegality across three continents.""

holden on to what u've got.

Just finished reading Catcher in the rye...I know its a little late for me to read it...but better late than never...plus Ive decided on catching up on my reading habits of late..have decide to get rid of all my IT literature and get back to my former literary velleity, novels.

The Catcher in the Rye is a story narrated by seventeen-year-old Holden Caulfield, a schoolboy in rebellion against the dubious values of the adult world. In 1949, while "recovering" in a California sanitorium, 17-year-old Holden relates events that occurred during three December days in 1948--when he was sixteen. Within this part of the story, Holden frequently flashes back to experiences and people from earlier in his life. A picaresque novel that illustrates the moral development and attitudes of its nonconformist protagonist.

Holden reminded me of my teens...the non conformism, the confusion and hatred toward all the things in life that seemed phony. Adolescence has its ways with the mind. Must say that the book has stood the sands of time...

Like J.D said "I hate everybody who comes in looking as if he might have played football in college".

Le Pistons est mort, Vive Le Spurs

A sad and disappointing night for me...after that fantastic effort in the 6th game the Pistons lost the 7th game...cheers to the spurs...the 3 point shooting killed the pistons...I wish I could shoot Robert Horry....man he has a knack of delivering clutch shots....
The Piston offense was a joke...with neither billups nor Hamilton coming up with good points...I know its all spilled milk now but hope this is not Larry Browns last game as coach..would love to see him coach next year as well....
The season is over...Hope the pistons come rejuvenated next year to win....
Go Pistons..

And another 2380 junkie graduates. Last weekend my roomie graduated..so thats it all of us out of school..well mayurs still in but he'll finish sooner or later...
but for all probable purposes this was my last trip to Dayton...the place I call home in this country...
Well the party was wild. We started of with a few deepal shah videos...and then the fair skinned people came and with them the fairer sex...from there on it was total chaos...we switched to our favorite music...Metallicaaaa....
and the party games started...beer pong..it was good pass time...but i doubt our boys will ever get drunk on beer...next time i vow well play scotch pong or rum pong...that would be da bomb...another few games along and the party was beginning to fizz out...

But Id put in enough gasoline to start singing and the requests for the guitar playing were getting pretty frantic...
So there I went on my binge of party songs...my version of Hotel Kamatipura and the Chilli song...boy did that rev up the crowd...met a lot of people half of whom I dont even remember...drank a lot of beer half of which went down the drain almst instantaneously.....
but all in all the graduation Party was a huge success..Thanks Rahul Congrats on ure graduation..and for the booze..for which I drove 560 miles in 7 hours with just one stop through the night..but it was all worth it.....
The drive back however was harrowing...but all in all The party was I think for Arun, Nikhil, Ajay and me a farewell to Dayton and our Days at the Wright State...
Like Long John said.."Farewell and Adieu to you students of Pain"...

No More Wild Berry Courts

This weekend marked the end of another major shift. For the last 5 months my ex-roomies Nik, Arun and AJ were all put up together at the wildberry ct, along with the Kman and "IT". Ive been visiting the guys every weekend since Jan. We'd have 2 nights of booze and one day of remorse(hangover). The parties were always in the basement and I am surprised that until the end no one complained about us making so much noise. We'd blast item numbers at 2 in the night. Man those were the days.

But slowly and steadily one by one everybody started moving out, First Nikhil then Arun and last weekend AJ left for chicago. That was it, the end of my weekends in Edison. It was sure good while it lasted.
My most fond memory is the tasting of the beers. We sampled about 18 to 20 different types of beer here..right from the bud to yuengling to haywards..to some pale ales with 9% alcohol levels. And all this with space left over for the hard booze. The true beer connoisseurs. Twas a good time good enough to probably keep me dry for many a weekend to come.

Looks like I'll have to train my car to drive another road now coz come this friday therell be no more Widberry Ct. All the things we have to give up for careers.
Goodbye AJ, Kman, Arun and Nik, and thanks for all the fun we had in the guesthouse.

Also special thanks to P and K for the fantastic food I got to eat on the last day, ummm sambar and rice, plus dosa and coconut chutney all home made. Was a special feast quiet comparable to the fish curry and fish Fry that the Kman and I made.

Like Yellton Yawn said "So Good Bye Wildberry ct, Where the dogs of society howl,
You can't plant me in your penthouse, I'm going back to my plough".
